Company Background
Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) is a professional stock car racing team owned and operated by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver Brad Keselowski. Located just 45 minutes north of Charlotte, North Carolina, the BKR facility serves as the home for the No. 19 and No. 29 Fords in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as well as a showcase facility for the team and their sponsors.
Project Background
In February 2015, BKR expanded their current facility to further their mission of providing young, talented drivers with the opportunity to improve their skills. With extensive experience in the racing industry, BKR knew they needed a highly durable and professional looking floor coating to protect their facility that would not be affected by extremely harsh use, frequent exposure to welding and automotive fluids.

Strategies/Challenges
One challenge that BKR ran into when starting this project was the removal of the old and failing floor coating which was removed with a quick and easy grinding process. Additionally, due to the timing of the expansion, the floor coating project would need to be completed in two different stages. They therefore needed a floor coating system that would be receptive to this unique project schedule, provide them with the greatest in durability, chemical and abrasion resistance, while maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
Results/Solutions
BKR chose UCoat It’s UClad-LV system in medium gray which provided a high-gloss and thick floor finish. The UClad-LV system is specifically designed to be used in automotive and industrial areas and it’s self-leveling properties helped to fill in low areas creating a more uniform finish. Furthermore, the unique compounds found in this system allow for full cure in just 12 hours, making this ideal for BKR as it allowed them to minimize downtime during their renovations. Ultimately the UClad-LV system was able to enhance the overall appearance, safety, and cleanliness of BKR’s new facility while evoking a greater level of professionalism for the team and any potential future sponsors.
