Company Background
The Carpinteria Sanitary District provides wastewater treatment, collection and disposal services to the residents and businesses of the City of Carpinteria, California and surrounding areas of the Carpinteria Valley. The municipal waste water management plant is capable of treating up to 2.5 million gallons of wastewater per day and has been recognized with several awards including being named Plant of the Year for 2008 by the Tri-Counties Section of the California Water Environment Association.
Project Background
The water treatment facility decided to apply a commercial-grade floor coating system to help protect the life of their floors and spruce up the entryway to the facility. Carpinteria Sanitary District also wanted to incorporate their company logo, as well as brand colors, into the entryway floors in effort to personalize their facility.

Strategies/Challenges
Carpinteria Sanitary District wanted a durable surface to protect the concrete, hold up to high foot traffic, and provide a nonslip finish. The challenge was to find a floor coating system that fulfilled their specific needs while having a quick turnaround time, being easy to install, and providing a brighter and more professional environment.
Results/Solutions
UCoat Medium Blue with UGloss-AF top coat was installed throughout the main areas of the facility. The high gloss finish in the lobby brightened up the area while the district logo was applied to customize their floor. “I was looking for something to set our entryway apart from the rest of the plain concrete. The cost was reasonable and my maintenance staff had no trouble following the easy directions.
