Company Background
One of the NHRA’s most storied tracks; Gainesville Raceway opened in 1969 and has hosted the Gatornational’s since 1970. It is known as one of the fastest tracks on the circuit having clocked the first 260 mph, 270 mph and 300 mph runs in Top Fuel history.
Project Background
Traditionally used as the main hospitality area for the Top Eliminator Club during the Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals, it has also played host to the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala Dinner, Gainesville Raceway’s Annual Racer Banquet, car shows, and many other events. As part of renovations to the pavilion, Ganesville Raceway made the decision to finish the concrete substrate in a highly decorative and durable floor coating that would add to the overall look and feel of the new upgrades.

Strategies/Challenges
The main objective for the Gainesville Raceway was to provide a floor coating for the pavilion that would withstand heavy foot traffic, hide minor imperfections, and be highly durable to the different seasons of weather. Along with these specific needs, this floor coating needed to be easy to install, stand up to abrasions, and look clean and formal for the different events held there each year.
Results/Solutions
The floor is finished with our UCoat with UFlek-AF system in two colors: UCoat Black with UFlek-AF Granite in the center seating areas and the floor coating is trimmed in UCoat Medium Blue with UFlek-AF Granite. Gainsville Raceway choose this specific system because of its decorative qualities, ability to hold up against food and drink spills as well as harsh chemical cleaners. In just 24 to 48 hours the pavilion was open again and ready for normal foot traffic.
