Company Background
The Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department was officially organized on February 10, 1977 and started with 21 members. The members of the Dolphin Community Center donated the land with a 100-year lease to the department to build a facility. Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department has been aiding the community, successfully, ever since.
Project Background
The Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department decided on coating their facility floors after years without having protection. They wanted a floor coating that would help to beautify their substrate, provide a barrier to spills, withstand the frequent and heavy vehicle traffic, while providing a quick and easy installation.

Strategies/Challenges
The Dolphin Volunteer Fire Department needed a high-strength, commercial-grade floor coating that could stand up to the extremely high foot and vehicle traffic that is present on a daily basis at the fire station. The challenge was to find a coating that could meet these needs but also limit the amount of downtime and do so for an affordable price.
Results/Solutions
In late 2009, the floor was coated with UCoat Medium Blue with UGloss-AF as a topcoat, that matched the blue decor of their unit. “The coating came out great!” commented Captain C.W. Roberts. “Everyone who has seen the new floor has been blown away with it.” Ultimately, their new floor coating was able to provide them with exceptional chemical resistance, durability, and a professional high-gloss finish.
