Application Info

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Ensure substrate is clean, sound and dry.  Remove all laitance, grease, curing compounds, bond inhibiting impregnations, waxes and any other contaminants that could prevent a bond to the substrate.  All projections, rough spots, and other surface irregularities must be removed to allow for a level substrate before coating.

Two types of surface preparation can be completed over concrete. We recommend a dry preparation which can be completed using a surface grinder, creating a fine profile. All grinding should be vacuumed ensuring the surface is dust free. You may also acid wash the surface with a muriatic acid or prep solution, rinse thoroughly and let dry. To test dryness prior to application, place a 4’X4’ plastic sheet on the substrate and tap down the edges. If after 24 hours, the substrate is still dry below the plastic sheet you
can proceed with application.

PRODUCT MIXING:

UPrime-MCP has a mix ratio of 4 parts A to 1 part B by volume. Packaging is pre-measured and should be mixed as supplied in the kit. We highly recommend that the materials not be broken down unless suitable weighing equipment is available. Pre-mix Part A before adding to the mixing pail. After the two parts are combined, mix well with slow speed mixing equipment such as a jiffy mixer until the material is thoroughly mixed and streak free.

installation:

The mixed material should be applied with a serrated squeegee and back rolled with a ½” roller cover as long as the appropriate thickness recommendations are maintained. For the best results, UPrime-MCP should be removed from the mixing pail by pouring the material onto the substrate and spreading it along the floor. Spreading out the material will allow the applicator more time to work with the material before it begins to cure. Tempertures and relative humidity should be maintained within the recommended ranges during the application and curing process. If concrete conditions or over aggressive mixing causes air entrapment, then an air release roller tool should be used prior to the coating tacking off to remove the air entrapped in the coating.
