UCoat It® UltraLife High-gloss Textured Flake finish
WATERBASED TOPCOAT: The following information pertains to interior and/or basement areas only. If you are coating a garage, exterior, or other area that requires optimal chemical, abrasion and/or UV resistance, click here.
All UCoat It floor coating finishes begin with application of UCoat water-based epoxy. This system uses UCoat epoxy as a bonding base with a multiple broadcast of UFlek decorative flakes sealed with multiple UGloss urethane topcoats.
What is UCoat It UltraLife?
UCoat It UltraLife is a multi-layered epoxy / urethane floor coating system that exhibits exceptional hiding characteristics along with superior chemical and abrasion resistance. Suitable for automotive and exterior areas, UltraLife incorporates our UCoat epoxy, UFlek decorative flake and UGloss (waterbased) urethane.
What are the benefits of using the UltraLife system?
A UCoat It UltraLife system retains all protective qualities of a UCoat epoxy floor with the added benefits of multiple coats of UGloss urethane. Adding a dense application of decorative flake creates textured surface that is hides underlying surface imperfections in the substrate, and when contrasting colored flake is used, dirt and surface scuff marks remain well hidden allowing for minimal surface maintenance.
How is UltraLife applied?
Best applied during installation of the UCoat base, UFlek flakes are hand-broadcast in two coats. Approx 50% of the flakes are applied onto the tacky UCoat material. When dry, UGloss clear is applied with a second broadcast of flake. The entire surface is finally sealed with two or more coats of UGloss clear topcoat.
The final UGloss topcoat will take approximately 2-3 hrs (at 68°F) to become tack-free. Your new UCoat It UltraLife floor will be ready for foot traffic in as little as 24 hours.
How much does it cost?
UCoat It UltraLife requires purchase of the UCoat epoxy system, 6-8x UFlek flake containers and two or more UGloss clear coats. To determine how much material you will need for your area, try our online Material Estimator.
